Review | Holes Movie Soundtrack

Holes is a soundtrack that does its best to sound hip
and appeal mainly to young teenage boys and girls who are in a spot in their
lives where they
are trying to seek out something from their parent's past, yet refuse
to admit it. It employs tracks from Shaggy, EELS, Moby, Eagle-Eye
Cherry and others to achieve this effect. As result, what young buyers
may find is a pleasant mix of some already established tunes, as well
some new ones.
What I liked about this soundtrack is that it offers
varied genres including hip-hop, alternative rock, pop, country and
even a few tracks with a slightly gospel feel. A favorite is
"Let's Make A Better World" by Dr. John. A classic. Some
more interesting tracks are the following: "Dig It"
(D-Tent Boys), "Keep'n It Real" (Shaggy), "Honey"
(Moby), "I'm Gonna Be A Wheel Someday" (Teresa James &
The Rhythm Tramps), and "Don't Give Up" (Eagle-Eye Cherry).
I suspect that those who pick up the soundtrack will "Dig
It." And the D-Tent Boys will find themselves an expended
following.
Soundtrack available from Walt Disney Records for a suggested
retail price of $18.98, however retailers such as Amazon
offer it for a discounted value as low as $14.99.
